I am so lucky.... I have a job that allows me to spend time with my kids and

my nieces and nephew!

We had a great day today at the new Sports Com pool which now has

water slides.

Kaylea, Kolson, Kassie and Jaden all had a great time.

Does my heart good to bring happiness in their lives!

They keep me young and make me happy!

Ohhh, how I love summer!

Summer time around our house means baseball!

Jaden is playing on a Travel team and is doing good!

I miss the baseball days with Matthew but we are having a great time with Jaden and his

ball. He is a lefty just like his brother.

He has so much drive to win.

It has been a while since I have posted on my blog and my Mom has so reminded me!

There is so much going on and seems that summer is passing by so fast.

What all have we been up to since school let out, well let's see!

We have been to Atlanta for a ballgame and to see our local hero David Price. We have been to Florida.

I can not believe it has been one year ago that I was getting ready to send my son off to college and now he

he is home for the summer and he cant wait to go back to Knoxville.

It is a bit strange when they come home from college.... of course at some point over this last year I guess

I still have the title of "Mom is dumb and don't know a thing"! Ha

Hate to tell him that I still know ALOT!

Memorial Day 2010~ our Local Hero

I have never taken Freedom for lightly.

This year and the older I get I feel more and more like we live in the best

country and that our Military is the bravest people in the world.

I have never been to a Military funeral in my life but back in

September 2009 a local Hero lost his life!

I knew his Girlfriend. She was a young lady that was friends

with my son.

This young man had only been over sea's for about a month

and lost his life at the age of 20.

I went to the funeral and can tell you that I was forever changed .

It really touched me that this young man had the desire to fight for

our country and he lost his life.

He will never be a husband now, he will never be a dad but he

is a hero!

I just wanted to share some of the pictures.

His Girlfriend Ashley still writes about him.

They were suppose to be together once he served his year but that was

cut short and she still hurts everyday!

GOD BLESS ALL OUR MILITARY and all who LOST THEIR LIVES!

Lots of catching up to do

Life has been nothing but busy lately! Baseball, kid home from college and

work! I also have been helping take care of my sister in law's niece who I adore.

She has brought so much happiness into our lives too!

To recap our little life Matt came home from college the first part of May.

It has been good having him home but strange too. Took us a day or 2 to get used to it.

I think it has been harder on him than us.

Jaden finished up 3rd grade. Can not believe he will be in 4th grade next year.

Work is still slow for me but I have been a little more busy.

We have been busy with Jadens Baseball.

He is having a great year and has really impressed some coaches out there.

So proud of him.

Of course most of you have heard about the flooding in Nashville.

We didn't get any here at the house but there were lots of areas around us that flooded.

Nashville was a mess! So sad to see all that.

This has been my home pretty much all my life and to see all the destruction was hard.

I can not imagine what these people are going through.

I see these images and it hurts.

These poor little kids with nothing.

If you have not given to the Haiti Relief efforts , please try to donate

Can Not believe that Christmas 2009 has come and gone.

Boy that was fast. We had about 4 days of food, food and more food.

Presents , presents and more presents.

We spent our holidays at home.

Christmas eve was with my Mom at her house with all the family.

My Dad and step mom came in on Christmas day and stayed

for 2 nights.

We had a great time all weekend with everyone.

There is a lot of pictures on this post and not really

Christmas 2009

Where has time gone? It is 2 weeks til Christmas and I have very few gifts.

I have been busy with this little girl..... my 3 old "adopted niece"

and my own 8 yr old boy and try to also manage to be a Mom

to a college kid.

This is Kaylea. She just turned 3. She is my sister in laws, brothers little girl.

Her Mom passes away about a yr ago and I have

tried to do some "Mommy" stuff with her.

I have had a lot of fun with her as you can imagine.

She is like part of us now.

This is Matthew and MacKenzie. She got accepted to UT Knoxville

also but has not decided yet where she will go. She will graduate in 2010.

They have done good making it work with him in Knoxville and her here.

We went to Opryland hotel this week. Here is

But first I wanted to tell you that.........

October is Breast Cancer Month.

I know several people that have been affected by breast cancer so this

has opened my eyes to this horrible illness.

I went yesterday and did a Mammogram for the first time ever.

Of course it is not something they recommend until you reach 40 I think

so of course I am barely there :)

I am glad to say that it was painless and it was

all normal.

Now for the last few months I have not posted much. I love

reading Kelly's blog http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/

She always does a post on Fridays about her home,

her nursery , her cooking, her wedding and all sorts of stuff.

I had several people email me when I did post one time and it was pictures of my

kitchen. So here is the rest of the story....

I know.............it's about time. I have had so much going on that I barely have time to do a thing. But I have found time tonight since Jaden is on fall break to download some pics and post on my blog. I am gonna try to do better with this. I have however been on facebook and that takes up some of my time.

Anyway .......what have we been up to? Well we got Matt moved off to college, we got Jaden into 3rd grade. We are done with all baseball right now. I am helping out with my little niece. She is really not my niece but it is my sister in laws niece (her brothers daughter). Anyway to make a long story short her name is Kaylea. She will be 3 in November. She is the sweetest thing ever. Her Mommy died about a year ago and she has been surrounded by love and family .My Mom watches her for the most part while her Daddy works.
I enrolled her into a preschool 2 days a week at the church down the road. Needless to say, she loves it. I take her and pick her up. She can't say my name real good but it is getting better. But she calls me "Cher" . It is so cute.

I'm back! Summer 2009

Well as they say.... I'm BACK! I have not really been anywhere other than going

crazy this summer. We have had lots of stuff going on. I have been so busy with life.

My kids keep me going non-stop.

This post is full of pictures and they are not really in order. I am

going to get better about that, but I was in a hurry and wanted to share

some of what we have been doing this summer.

Can I have a Kleenex

I need a whole box or case of Kleenex. Last night was Matthew's last high school baseball game.

I was so heart broken when it was over. I knew this was gonna be the hardest day and I was right, it was. To see Matthew walk off that field for the last time as a Siegel Star hurt so bad. he came out with his head hanging low and I am sure he was thinking to himself "man this is it, it is over for high school". I gonna miss everyone. Ya see, Matthew has played ball since the age of 5. We have traveled all over. We have made so many friends and here we are saying good bye to a big part of it. He still has summer ball to play , but this is a big piece of our life now in the history book.

Matthew, I am so proud of you. You are an awesome young man. You have made us all proud.

You have been a leader, and you are a great role model for your little brother.

You have been the son that I would say anyone would be proud of.

From freezing to death at the early season games to sitting out in 100 degree temps and playing 9 games in one day when you were just 8 yrs old.

You are loved and you make me proud.

God Blessed me with 2 wonderful boys but anytime I can spoil and play with a little

girl I will. This is Kaylea. She is my "niece". Well really she is my sister in laws

niece (her brothers little girl) but she has become a real part of our family. She came home

with me yesterday for a couple of hours. My Mom keeps her while everyone

is at work. When she got her she wanted to take a bath. She loves baths.

So after she got out I was doing my hair and getting ready and she

was so interested in it that we had to take charge and make

her a "Girly Girl".

Maybe God did know what he was doing when he gave me boys.

I think I would be broke and the girl would be ruined! Ha.

OK, so I know it has been FOREVER since I have posted. My life is one BIG

whirlwind. I am so busy with the boys and work and just life.

the beginning of meltdowns for me :)

Tornado on Good Friday

Nothing like driving to Knoxville, Tn for a ball game with my 18 yr old

and your brother calling you on the phone and saying "Mom's house has been hit by the

tornado". Ya see, Jaden and my brothers kids were home with her when it

hit. Talk about me being in total PANIC.

But thank GOD all of them were safe.

There is so many more pictures to post and I will get around to it

soon, but I can tell you that I am worn out, tired, and need rest.

I have not posted anything about Jaden lately so I thought I better catch up. Today I stayed home and we did some things around the house and some errands. He is still on spring break and before the rain hit we went to Target to get him a few new clothes and then we went to Lowes to get a few flowers.

We worked outside today and did a little yard work.

We have company coming tomorrow so we are trying to get everything

looking good and clean.

We were in line at Lowes and this little old man came up to me and asked me if he could give Jaden this little cross. Of course I said yes and Jaden stuck his hand out and accepted it. It made his day. He was so proud of that. He said "when people do that it makes me feel good".

I thought that was sweet of him.

Did I mention I have LOTS to do?

Well I feel like I am a downward spiral and don't know what end is up.

Matthew has got so much going on and I have no clue how I even keep up.

We have graduation on May 15th, we have to do senior pictures next week. We still need to go visit a couple of colleges. We have baseball, baseball, baseball. We have Prom. I have to send in payment to order cap/gown. And throw Jaden in the mix of all that and you can officially call my life CraZy!

Oh yes don't forget I'm trying to plan his graduation party and also his senior trip which is a cruise that me and another Mom are going on with 4 boys!

By then I may need to be out of the country for a week. No cell phone,

no 8 yr old saying "Mom, Mom, Mom" and NO SCHOOL or baseball.

So here we are T minus 45 days and counting til

May 15th.

Am I ready, probably not.

Do I have a choice NO.

Here is Matt being Matt. This is the Tux he is wearing. The girl that he is going with has a dark brown dress. He chose the Dark Brown tux with White shirt and vest and brown tie.

It looks way better in person. I didn't think black would work, and the only other would be white

or cream and that could be a disaster for Matthew.

Oh did I mention it will be $174.00 to rent. Calvin Klein. He has good taste like his Mom.
May 15th is graduation at 7pm.
I am excited , but wonder how I will hold up.

applied. He says he is waiting til after baseball to decide.

BUT it is driving me nuts.

We still get a million things in the mail. And all the colleges that have accepted him

I became the proud Mom of

Matthew Allen.

Matthew means a gift from God and Allen is after my

very favorite Uncle in the world (although all my uncles are special).

Matthew weighed 7lb 120z.

Little did I know that 18 yrs later he would be

6'5" tall and 205lbs.

He has made me so proud through all these years. He is a great student in school.

He has played about every sport in the world and done great.

He is the best son, and the BEST brother to Jaden.

I lost 2 babies before Matthew was born so when he came along it was so special.

Matthew , we all love you. You have made us all proud and you are fixing to be going on a new adventure in the world of College. I know you will do well, and I know you will make us all proud.

All your Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and family all love you!

How much I love the game of Baseball. Especially when my boys are playing.

Matthew had his 1st game of the season yesterday. It was about an hour drive south. So I picked Jaden up at school, we set the navigation system and hit the road. It was a beautiful day in the high 70's. Matthew didn't think he would pitch, but guess what? Yes he went in to close the game. Pitched the last inning and threw to 3 player and was about to strike all 3 of them out. It was good for him since we have had all these arm problems. He felt good and loved to go out and show how good he feels.

I was so proud.

Snow in Tennessee & Basketball

We got about 4-5 inches of snow overnight. The further south you are the more you got. I woke up at 6am and looked out and never went back to sleep. I am like a big kid when it snows. I love it. I wished it would have snowed 2 feet!

It was a pretty snow. It stuck to everything.

It is Basketball tournament time in our area. It is so exciting.

Of course Jaden loves this. Here are a few pictures of his fun time during the games.

We have won the last 3 games and we play Tuesday night.

Hello All... we have had a crazy week or so.

Jaden broke out with a rash about a week ago. Of course I didn't think anything

about it until it got worse and worse. It went from one part of his body to another.

It started on his back, then stomach, then face, and now his arms and feet.

Took him to the doctor and he has Fifth Disease!

When that doctor said that... all I heard was DISEASE! I had

not clue what the heck that was. Anyway, it is really nothing.

He has no symptoms and feels fine.

Part 2 of this post. Through facebook my school classmates have re-connected.
We have gone bowling twice. Once last month and once this month. It is anyone who went to
Antioch from 1985-90.
I know....... we are old.
Anyway, here are a few pics from our fun. It has been great seeing faces and meeting friends

Yes it is that time of year... BASEBALL! Scrimmage games started on Saturday for

Matthew. The nerves hit me Saturday morning when I knew Matthew would

pitch 1 inning and I was praying that his arm would hold up.

I worked myself into a head ache.

So I got to the game and he finally pitched inning 3. The coach

only lets his pitchers pitch one inning during scrimmage games.

Well as Matt went up to the mound, got the ball my heart sunk into my

stomach. I was so nervous what it might be like.

I have to say that I was so PROUD. He did great. No pain in

his arm, and he did really , really good.

I want him to have such a good season because this is his senior year and it is the end of a lot

of good times. He will still play, but high school ball = great friends, memories to last

a life time and so much fun.

Senior Moments of Bowling

Ok, I am warning you now that this is kinda long. And I added my pictures before I started to type and it did the ones I needed at the first part and it put them at the bottom. Oh well.

Let me start by saying that I am very much starting to feel the pain of my son being a senior and all these wonderful memories that we are having are starting me make me very emotional.

Matthew made the state Individual Bowling Tournament this year. He went in it being #5 in the whole state! Yep, #5.

It started out with 48 bowling on Thursday and then went to 24. He mad the top 24 and again was # 5 when they re-seeded the kids. He then bowled and then they took the top 6. He didn't do as good and we figured he would end up #9. We heck no.... he got the 6th and final spot. When they called his name I just about tackled him.

I was so proud. He did so good.

He then had to be back on Friday at 8:30am. So it was down to 6 bowlers to be the state champ. He did pretty good , but he ended up finishing 6th.

Needless to say, bowling is over and here we come BASEBALL!!!!!!

Oh and did I tell you that Matthew has also been in the paper 4 times this week and his is the Athlete of the week for our area. And he also got interviewed by a college coach for bowling.

Yes it 2009 and what does that mean? That means my first baby graduates this year. Everyone has told me that after Christmas that it will fly by. So I guess I better grab a hold and hang on huh. It has gone by fast. I sit sometimes and wonder what it is gonna be like without Matthew in school right down the road?

I wonder what it is gonna be like to not have so much say so in his life. What will it be like to wonder what the heck he is doing? I am not looking forward to that. What is it gonna be like the first week he is gone. Waiting on him to call me. And most of all I wonder what it will be like for his little Brother Jaden? It is gonna be an adjustment for all of us.

Matthew does not know where he wants to go yet , but he has several things in mind. We are still waiting to see what this spring brings with Baseball. He is now released from his therapy twice a week and is throwing everyday. He says he feels good, so that makes me very HAPPY!

As we sit back and enjoy what the last few months of his senior year have to offer please keep us in your prayers. Pray that Matthew will continue to get better and better.

I am so thankful that he is such a good kid (even though we don't see eye to eye all the time), he makes good grades, he did good on his ACT, he is just a great young man.

He has kept a job for over a year and a half. First job and still has it.

Hello, My name is Daisy. I am happy to be to my new home with Matt and Jaden. Although I look like a little FOO FOO dog they still love me. I am half Maltese and half Bishon.

I am almost 4 months old and I have been a very good little girl. Jaden named me before he even knew he was getting me for Christmas. See Mommy told him a friend got a new little girl puppy and what would be a good name and he said "Daisy". I have a few cute sweaters and I sleep all night.

I am sure you will see more of me on this blog.

Ok,enough about me.... here is the rest of the family.

Ok, the holidays have kept me going like a crazy woman. Whew. Hope everyone had a good one. We did, and the kids got a bunch from Santa. Matt goes back to school on Monday and Jaden has one more week out.

Good news this week, I sold a house that closes Jan 20th. I am very thankful for that. Good way to start the new year.

The boys and I went out to eat New Years eve at Chili's and had a great time then came home and watched all the fun TV shows and the guy who did that jump in Las Vegas. WOW. Crazy.

This is Matt and his entire baseball team at the VA hospital. We go every year. Me and Jaden tag along to visit too. We take them things like socks, lotions and things like that. The patients love seeing the boys. Of course Jaden is always a hit with them too since he is small. I love it as well. It does my heart good to see those men who gave to this country happy to see these kids. Some of them have noone that visits. Jaden and I took up with one of the men 2 yrs ago and was hoping to see him this time, but he had been moved. We took him a special gift last year, but didnt get to see him this year. But we had a wonderful time. It is a great experience for them and I am glad that we can join them.

I know, I know. It has been a while. I have been super busy with all the Christmas stuff. Wish I could say work was super buys, but that is not the case. Continue to pray that the housing market turns around so. Here are a few pictures from Christmas.

We Got SNOW!!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. We got 3" here

in Middle Tennessee. I can not tell you how excited I was.

I am like a BIG kid when it snows.

Jaden was so excited. We had actually been

talking about snow a lot lately and then this.

He told me last night that he prayed it would snow and that it was snowing

because he prayer for it. Too cute :)

We played in it last night for about 2 hours. It was perfect snow.

The flakes were huge. It was right at 32 degrees outside which made

it nice wet snow.

Of course they got out of school. I am sure if any of you Northern people are

reading this you are saying "you got out of schoo" for that!

Oh yea, we get out for any little bit.

But yes, me and My sweet Son Jaden went to the Titans game yesterday

and the game time temp was 29. Wind chill was about 19.

It was freezing. I was ok until my feet got cold. Poor Jaden, he

would get up and watch the plays then get back

under the covers. We had on several layers of clothing.

We sat in the end zone so that was neat.

We have a busy week this week. Matt starts district play this

week for bowling . He is excited about that. I will try to get pictures, but

it is not easy and you cant use a flash in the bowling alley.

He bowls 3 days this week and on Wed starts Physical Therapy on

his elbow. I just pray he gets better. He is really

worried about it.

I got a busy week of lots of stuff with the Kido's...

Christmas time and wondering if......

Matthew will be here next year at Christmas or will he be coming home for Christmas?

As he still does not know where he will end up going to school, he has gotten accepted

to lots of good schools. Some close, some not so close. Of course I want to

see him go where he wants and really want to see him play baseball, but who

knows if his arm will allow it.

But as I put their stockings up, I realize this COULD be the last Christmas with

him at home. Ok, can you say meltdown.

This week was just full of odd and end things. Not much going on. And really not much in the Real Estate world. I am hoping that will change soon. Hey, what about those gas prices. I got gas today for $1.48. WOW. I love that.

Jaden and I are going to the TITANS game tomorrow. It is gonna be cold. So if you see a woman and a little kids waving in the end zone like crazy when we win, it will be me and Jaden. I am excited. I love going, but just hope I am ready for the cold weather.

Weekend Wrap up

OK, that 5 days just flew. Poor Jaden did not want to get up this morning. But there is a bright side. Only 2 1/2 weeks til Christmas break. Yay.

Well we had some great family time, and some great food. We ate a small dinner with my Mom on Thursday. We watched the Titans game, oh yea can we say 11-1. And then after we ate it was put the tree up time.

My Mom thinks we have to hang every single ornament. We were so tired when we got done. The tree is 9 ft. and we did the lights and all that decorating that night. It is one of the most prettiest I have ever had. Check back on Dec 15th for the Christmas tour.

On Saturday I got up at 8 , put a 17lb turkey in the oven. The family came over to eat and visit.

We had a great time. The food was wonderful. But by the time it was over I was exhausted. Whew.

Are you ready for some football? I sure am. Today is gonna be a good one.

Titans vs. Jets and Brett Farve. Matthew and Daddy have gone to the game...bummer for me and Jaden.

Matthew has been a Brett Farve fan since he was about 5.

Don't ask me why because we have no family there , and we are not fans but oh well. I guess most everyone likes him to a degree.

I am a HUGE fan of the Titans. I love it. I have loved it since they came to Nashville and didn't look back. I have been to many , many games. Sat in the heat for pre-season and have sat in the bitter cold. I will make it to one this year again. Hope to a playoff game.

So how about it, if you are not from here do you follow the team that is 10-0. I would like to know who you like and do you follow the BEST team in the NFL right now?

Man I love this game.

Oh, how he loves this.

Yes, he does.

Ya see, my son is the little guy who brings the high school team onto the court during all home games, a few away games, and most off the playoff games.

This is his 4th yr to do this. It is just the coolest thing ever. When it comes around to the beginning of the season Jaden switches gears from baseball, from football (somewhat), and into full BASKETBALL mode. Jaden is the first one to run out with the rest of the team behind him. He goes down and takes a shot then heads to the middle of the court giving the team high fives while they practice before game. SO COOL!

This means going and buying new shoes, new shorts, new shirt.

He is loved , loved, loved by the students at school. He is quiet a celebrity around. We can go places and people see him and will say in a little quiet voice "look, that's the kid that runs out with Siege's basketball team". It is just the greatest.

Well, last night was the first game of the season and it was just as sweet as ever.

It's been a while since I have posted anything so I thought I better catch up.

It has been a busy week or so. It seems like everyday it is something.

Last week I got the mail, and in the mail was the sample of Matthew's graduation invitation.

Ok.... I was not ready for that. It is getting more and more real. The next day he brought home all the stuff to order all that STUFF!

This is a funny moment. Almost as good as Matt's pink eye...

Yesterday I picked Jaden up from school and when we got home I was taking my boots off and he just so happened to look over and see them.

Ok, they are black, high boots just like you all wear.

Well Jaden looks at me and says "Hey Mom, those are cool, they look like KISS boots. Ya know, as in the rock group KISS>

I'm thinking you have got to be kidding me.

Hey Mom "I think I have Pink EYE"

I am at work today doing pretty much nothing since NOONE wants to buy houses today. Anyway, Matthew

is at school and is NOT suppose to be texting his Mother all morning about school stuff, grades (good), and all that junk.

Well, I get back from lunch (yea I get a lunch break in real estate) and Matthew sends me this text message that says just this " I think I have pink eye". I send him one back ... "well don't rub it and I will look at it when you get home and we have some drops for it".

He replies a few minutes later and says these exact words " I had 2 contacts in my left eye!! How did that happen?" I about rolled out of my chair. I am sitting there shaking my head and sent back to him "because you goofey or one jumped out of your right eye and landed in your left eye".

Lord HELP THE KID WHEN HE MOVES OUT TO COLLEGE!!!!!!!

Field Trip without Mom

Today Jaden's class was going on a field trip and if any of you know me you know that

I don't usually miss stuff like this. But this time to be honest it was not something I was very excited about so I DIDN'T sign up to go.

Well , Jaden just assumed I was going. So this was the conversation this morning.

Jaden sais "Mom, you better get your jeans on for the field trip

I said "Jaden I am not going on that one today"

Jaden said "your not going"?

I said "No, I didn't sign up to go to this one so you will be with your teacher and the other parents that go.

Jaden said" well I guess that means I am a BIG boy since you are not going"...

I said "yes, you are a big boy but that is not why I didn't go, I just wanted other parents to have a chance to go too".

My baby is growing up. He will be 8 in Feb. I can't believe it.

The meaning to the story is that Jaden wanted me to go,and I hate I didn't go,

but he feels like he is REALLY cool and BIG that he is going and

will have a GREAT time.

I have a busy day today helping at the High School to help with the baseball teams
fundraiser . In other words, just a money maker so it helps us not have to pay so
much. Oh, and lets not mention that it right now is 39 degrees outside. I gotta find my
gloves to go to the baseball field. It should be fun. They are having homerun derby. And
singing and all that. Hey, he is a senior and I should be cherishing these moments , huh?
Right!

Saturday was my nephew's birthday party. His actual birthday is tomorrow, Nov 5th.

He will be 4.

Well to make a long story short I called my brother at last minute and said what can I get him. He said just give him money and we can put that towards a Nintendo DS.

I was cool with that. But as my wheels start turning and I thought about it, I called my Mom who I also knew was gonna give him money and said "lets go in together and get him and Nintendo DS", of course she had no clue what it really was but she was okay with that.

So I rush and get ready, head over to Best Buy, get the game and wrap it and head over to the party.

Well as it turns out he opened our gift first and here is the picture of him getting his Nintendo DS. It was pure joy. The look on his face was PRICELESS!

I loved that.

From what I have heard he has not put it down since he got it. And actually fell asleep playing it the other day.

Nothing like making a kids day! :)

And it made his Aunts day too... and Granny.

We had a weekend full of company and fun. We made a "dummy" on Halloween with our Michael Myers Mask and sat it up in the driveway. We had a lot of fun with that.

Halloween at my house on Friday, Saturday was my nephew and Kaylea's joint birthday parties at Chuckie Cheese .

Sunday was a day of cleaning up and Watching my TITANS go 8-0. Gotta love that.

Yep, thats right. Gotta clean this house up before Friday.

We always do Halloween at our house. We eat, trick or treat, usually build a fire and have a lot

of fun.

I have to host Jadens school party on Friday and my Dad and Step Mom are coming

in town Friday too. So today is the cleaning day.

And boy does it need it. I have not had time to REALLY clean lately.

And anyone who knows me knows how funny I am about my house being clean.

Code Blue

This is Matthew setting in the waiting room at the doctor today (sneaky me with my cell phone camera).

Anyway the news was pretty good. He still has a slight tear in the MCL and a slight bone fracture. The doctor said he must rest his arm from pitching for 4 weeks and then start Phy. Therapy.

This is pretty good news. He feels really good that he will be ready for Feb 12th starting practice date. He did say that he can bowl, but if it starts to hurt that he is to stop that too. So over all he is happier than he was last night and now for the CODE BLUE

If you haven't heard tonight is CODE BLUE... and for any of you NON football fans and Non Titan fans it means everyone here is to wear blue to the game and else where. See Matt has his jersey on.

TGIF ! Let me recap our week...... First off, I did EARLY VOTE! Get out there and vote !

Whew what a week. We have been busy. Matthew had Doctor appt Monday for his arm and went back on Tuesday for another MRI. We go back on Monday the 27th for the results. The doctor said he could do surgery but that would put him out for 9-12 months (NOT).
He looked at me when he said that and knew that I am saying NO WAY. The doctor then went
on to say that he didn't want him to miss his Senior year and any opportunity he may have. Ya think?

We are really fired up around this town over our star in the World Series. If you didn't know his name is David Price. Anyway to make a long story short he is from here, went to Vandy, and now is 23 and in the World Series. This is so awesome. He pitched for the win of game 2 last night. Pitched 3 innings. Way to go David. We are very excited!

Matthew is now in bowling season. Doctor said he could as long as it didn't hurt his arm. He has done really well. He is 2nd in the District right now. Way too cool. He loves this, and I hate to say but I would rather see the strikes off the pitcher mound rather than down bowling lanes. Ha
But if he makes it to the individual State Tourn (which he is well on his way) I do enjoy that. It was alot of fun last year when he made it. But Matt loves it, so that makes me happy :)
This morning Jaden got ready for school and usually has about 15 minutes of down time to do whatever he wants before we pack up and head to school. Usually he goes up stairs and plays a quick game on the XBOX 360. Well this morning I noticed he wasn't upstairs, he was laying on the couch in the hearth room reading his book...... and it was not just any book. It was his Bible.
I just thought that was so cute and sweet.

Isn't that just adorable. And it amazes me that being in 2nd grade that he is such a good reader and speller.

Hope you all have a good weekend. It is cool and rainy here. Suppose to be a great weekend though. Oh yea, in case you care. Titans play MONDAY night football vs. the COLTS. I would say that MY Titans will be 7 & 0 come Monday!

We won't talk about UT playing Alabama. It will probably be a good Ole' fashion BUTT whooin.

Anyone who knows us knows how much we LOVE baseball.

Last night was so much fun. We watched game 7 of the playoffs for the World Series and what a game it was. It was a close game the whole time. Then it got down to the 8th inning and bases loaded for Boston (oh crap , not good) and Me, Matthew and Jaden were all yelling at the TV for Tampa Bay to put in our hometown hero David Price. They kept talking about him, and we felt like they would. Well as always they go to a commercial and we are sitting there waiting, and waiting. Then they come back to the game and sure enough, #14 David Price from Murfreesboro, TN is on the mound. People, this is huge for him. He has just been called up from the AAA division of that team and is now fixing to pitch in a must win to get to the "BIG DANCE". Matthew came downstairs so nervous you would have thought he was standing out there( I wish). It was so fun.
Another fun note is that I work with his brother. He is a real estate agent and his office is 2 doors over from mine. It is so much fun to watch all this happen.

It's been a while

so I have a lot to say.
It has just been crazy around here lately. Of couse we were on vacation for a week, and then Jaden had a second week off. He goes back to school on Monday. I am kinda sad about that, but I guess it will be good to get back in a routine.

Well as many of you know, the market for houses is TERRIBLE. It is really slow here. I am getting a little bit worried, and kinda getting bored and may try to find something part time. I don't want to work full time if at all possible because being here for my kids is important to me.
Especially being here for Matt as he gets ready in about 8 months to head of into the BIG world of college. No, we have not made our mind up on that. We still get piles and piles of stuff everyday.
Matt seems to be enjoying his senior year..... oh and he is dating a cheerleader from Riverdale High. They have gone out a few times, and she has been over her too. Really cute girl and seems really sweet. They went out last night after football, and then he took her out tonight to O'Charlies.

Matt also played a baseball game this week and as he was pitching he turned to the dug out and pointed to his elbow...... oh yes, his elbow is very sore again. We have another doctor appt on Monday at 1pm. The last injury was a sprain to the MCL. I hope that is all it is again, or just a little rust on the arm since he has not thrown in a few months. I will post more on Monday about that.

I am glad tomorrow is Sunday and that the Titans play. We are really caught up right now in the baseball playoffs too. We are cheering for the Tampa Bay Devilrays. There is a young man that graduated from one of the local high schools and he also went to Vandy and he plays for them. I also work with his brother. They are one win away from going all the way....

Well, I will post more later and some pictures too.

I read this today and thought it was worth sharing. This can relate to most everyone. The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.

First I was dying to finish high school and start college.

And then I was dying for my children to grown old enough for school so I could return to work.

I am guilty of this myself. And having a senior in high school and seeing his life go by so fast, it is time to slow down and enjoy him. Like I have told Matthew, these are the best days of his life. I never thought life could pass by so quick.

This week is one of My very best friends in the whole world Birthday.

Her name is Cindy. She and I did lots of stuff together, talked everyday(several times), shared a lot of the same interest, loved kids, and loved to SHOP! The unfortunate thing is that I can't talk to Cindy anymore, I can't call her, I can't shop with her and I can't put my arms around her sweet children. Why you ask? They are in Heaven. Yes Heaven. Her and her husband, her dear sweet son Ryan and my god daughter Megan, and Cindy's father.

They were all killed in a plane crash back in April of 2000. I will never ever forget it or them as long I as I live. My son Jaden is named after her son. I have done what I can to make them a part of my life as much as I can.

I just could not let this day go by without say "Happy Birthday Cindy". I miss you, I miss your kids, I miss the times we had, I miss all of you. I miss all your creative ways, and I miss being able to pick up the phone and call you and see what was going on for the day. I will see you again one day! Oh and you better believe me, if she were her she would be a BLOG gal. :) Cindy and her daughter Megan.

Today was the release of Rock Band 2. Matt went this week to preorder it.

He has drove me craZy the last 2 days about it.

Anyway to make a long story short, I went to get it and I called Matt and told him

I was on the way to get it. I decided to play a trick on him.

I called him after I got it and told him that they didn't get the shipment in because of the storms

in Texas. Needless to say I was kidding, and he was MAD! LOL

I got home and called him down stairs and pulled it out of my purse.....

and this morning I have a lot of pain. I went yesterday and joined the local Gym here. Lauren invited me to start going with her a few nights a week and work off a few pounds.
I also invited another friend, so there was 3 of us. We had a great time. It was easier being with other GALZ. We worked out for about an hour or so.
My legs feel like noodles this morning.
On a funny note, I told Matthew (my son) that I was gonna start going to the gym and working out and I thought I was gonna have to pick him up off the floor from laughing(smart butt).
I'll show him,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hmmmm. Ya know 17 yr olds don't think their parents can do anything.

Where O' Where will my first baby go? Go where you ask? COllEGE!!!! Yes, like as in maybe move out, or move away(tear , tear).

I am telling you, if any of you have been to college recently and or are in the process of elimination like we are then you know that the heck I am talking about.

This is CRaZY! We get stuff daily in the mail, and more and more and more confussion goes along with every packet that comes in.

Well, as we sit down last night and looked thru this massive pile of nice packets(confussion) we

had some more talking to do.

Questions from dear Ole' Mom started in. Oh by the way , I am dear ole' Mom(old is more like it). Ha.

Here we go "Matthew , where do you really want to go?" he says UT Knoxville. Ok, hmmm ($$)

We need to send off a few, so "where else?"... how about Tennessee Tech, MTSU, and a few others were mentioned. Ok...........

As we set there and fill out these small journals called applications and make out all the checks to send them off, Jaden starts paying more and more attention to the fact that this is getting to become real. He says "Matt, I think you should just go to MTSU". Matt said no, Jaden, I think I will go to a College in California. In other words, he is aggervating him.

To make a long story short, my sweet little baby boy does not , and I do mean NOT want his brother to move out or away.

We finished up 4 applications, and we will see what happens. He has to take the ACT again. Well, I guess he doesnt have too, but he is. He has only took it once and scored good but we want to see how he can do on the 2nd one.

Here are the ones that we sent so far

He still thinks he is leaning towards Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, or Pre-Dentist.

Well, let me just sum it up for you.
Tennessee VOLS lost........in OVERTIME at that (for all you who didn't stay up and watch).

I guess my neighbor was glad to take my flag down, and put his Gator flag (trash) back up.
Ha ha, they didn't see it for about 2 hours after they got home.

After the game was over I got 2 text messages from him. One said "how bout those Bruins", and then the other one was "good night LOOSER".
At that point I was too MAD to text him back and get in a text war at 11:45pm.

Jaden has really been into the Olympics even though it is over. We had to make him a USA shirt and he comes home and loves playing like he is on team USA. He really enjoyed watching most of it. And loved the swimming.

This has been our life for about 2 weeks. Jaden had strep throat, then Matt got it.

Now both boys have allergies. GHEZZZ! I guess now that school started there are lots of little germs floating around...

Anyone been watching the Convention! I'm so glad they had signs up for me...LOL. And yes, Jaden has watched this also. He gets his political kick from my Mother. I don't think I have ever really paid that much attention to this stuff before.
And finally, tonight is TITANS football and MTSU plays.

GO Titans. Atleast with Farve gone I dont have to listen to my 17yr old son bugging me about Green Bay. Atleast not until November when Titans play the Jets.

Here are some things about me that you might not know.....

1) I grew up in LA, that stand for Lower Antioch . Better known as the hood now. For those of you who done know where that is, it is in South Nashville. Back then.... and I do mean way back then it was just good ole' country boys and girls. Now..... well like I said it is the Hood, or little Mexico. Whewww how times have changes.

2) I am what most people would think of as a girly girly, but on the weekend I will wash my own car, do yard work and clean outside. I am not afraid to mow grass, weedeat, clean cars or anything like that. I am REALLY funny about a clean car. I think the ole' saying is true, You are what you drive. And nothing drives like a clean car. Now the inside might not be as clean, but you wont see me in a dirty car on the outside very often. I was taught well by my Father.Especially in my line of work, you gotta look good!

3) I do drink coffee most every morning. That is usually the first thing I do in the morning. Cream and Sugar please. But only 1 cup.

4) I am a sports nut! I love , love , love, love The Tennessee Titans! And I love baseball(duh), I love racing . I grew up going to the race track in Nashville most of my younger years and teenage years. My father worked down there and we went every Saturday night. Total redneck , I know. But I loved it.

5) I love to shop. I love shoes, purses and clothes. I also like buying for the house. I like changing Comforters on the bed too. I am not one of these people that will have the same bedding on the bed for years and years.

6) I AM A CLEAN FREAK! I have a nick name from some of my friends ...... they call me "April", like as in April Fresh. I am very , very bad about cleaniness. Now, my house does get a bit messy during the summer because I live at the ballfield and POOL, but other than that I am REALLY bad about cleaning. And because of that I really have a phobia of staying in a Hotel. In fact if Matthews ball team has to stay overnight at anytime, they usually get me to find the hotel because they know I will find the BEST and cleanest.

Shrimp and Stupid Pack-n-Plays(featuring Lauren)..

Today was another fun fun fun day at the office.

We got to welcome Sophia back from her honeymoon. Lauren go to give Sophia the rental phone back. We got to take a look at Sophia's pictures from her honeymoon (the PG rated ones anyway) from Hawaii.

It made Lauren and I soooooooo jealous.

So much so that she told her DH that she really wanted to go back to Hawaii again, and he asked what in the world they would do with Dawson, so you know me I offered to keep him or they could let me go and I would be the Nanny. I think that sounds great! Ha.

We galz decide that we are hungry and after Lauren looked at the pictures of shrimp in that place they call paradise we decide we are going to lunch and they wanted to have shrimp of some sort . So off to lunch we go.

BUT.......................

As we are all packing up our purses and all our goodies , Lauren manages to take down the play pen (better know as the Keep Dawson entertained while I take dumb rental calls) she is having one heck of a time getting the "thing" to fold back up so she can put it away until next time Sophia leaves town ...ha.

Anyway I captured a few pictures of our Dear LAUREN having a slight meltdown...........people it was actually kinda funny. Finally with a 3rd hand (mine) we got it down.
And we were off to our paradise for some sort of shrimp...... our paradise today was called Puleo's Grille. I would stay tuned to Laurens blog for more details on lunch..... we had some very funny moments with Dawson. I never seen Lauren laugh so hard. :)

Wow, you gotta LOVE (not) when you turn 40. Seems you get to celebrate for a few days.

Yesterday my fun co-workers took me out to Olive Garden. We had a great time. We requested one of Matthew's friends girlfriends as our waitress and she did a great job. She also fell in love with Dawson...... Jaden will be jealous. ha

I was showered with gifts and fun! And of course Dawson was the center af attention.

And Lauren (being the sneaky thing she is) brought me a Heath Bar Cake. Wow it was great.

I ended up leaving before we had cake because Jaden called from school sick, but she brought

me the part they DIDN'T eat to my house.

Nice to have wonderful friends!

my 40th bday. Didn't do too much during the day. Me and Jaden went to the pool for about 3 hours. He played while I got some sun, and listened to Matts Ipod.
Then we decided at VERY last minute to go to the Titans game. It was great. We won, and I spent about 100.00. You would have really thought this was Jadens bday. Ha.

But as the story goes.......$60 for 2 tickets in the lower level,$15 to park, $18 for chicken fingers, a pretzel and a coke, and $25 for Jaden a football and tee..........PRICELESS! When my kids are happy, then I am happy!

~~~Oh crap, tomorrow is the day! ~~~What day you ask? It is the day that I have dreaded since my birthday last year when I turned 39, and knew that they next one that came around if the
good Lord allowed it was gonna be 40.
WHEWWWW!

I actually can not believe it if you wanna know the truth.
The good part is for the most part I don't feel it. I have 2 of the most wonderful kids that keep
me busy.

Oh yea, my dear son Matthew started his SENIOR year today at school too. Now that makes me feel OLD. And then tonight at dinner, Jaden said "Hmmmm, you and Dad both are now 40". Thanks Jaden, words of wisdom. I said "yes Jaden, but your Daddy will always be older than me" .

This week was a busy one. Jaden had school all week , but today . Today I took him, Kassie and Kolson to the pool. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. I laid out in the sun and took in a few magazines and tried to relax.
~Tuesday I want to meet Jadens teacher. It seems that my name was the only one on the sign up sheet to "HELP" out in the class with parties and all that. I thought I was signing up to help but since the name Michelle was the only one on there...... you guessed it. I am the room Mom! I think it will actually be ok.
~Thursday we watched the D'man, better known as Dawson. He was so cute! Jaden loves him a lot. So do I . He brings us a lot of JOY. We had a little blow out in the Huggies, so we had to give him a little bath in the BIG jaccuzi tub. He loved it, and all was good. Wraped him up in the towel, held him and he went to sleep. He is the sweetest!

Matthew worked a lot this week with it being back to school time. That was a nice break.... get him out of the house some. It seems our house is the hang out place..... ha. Anyway, he is glad to be back to work after a longggggg summer of baseball. He is gonna be glad for that nice PAYDAY!

I am so ready for football season to start. Last night's pre-season game just got us

in the mood.

It means that this is the downhill slide to
Saturday August 9th,
which is also my 40TH b'day!

YICKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not, not, not looking forward to it. Why you ask........let me break it down for you.

1. The idea of 40 or 40 something is not my idea of fun.

2. You will soon be in the category of having other medical things done and tested. It is when the word cholesterol, or mammogram become common words.

3. I am already noticing that you wake up each day with a different pain in your body.

4. Your kids all of a sudden think you are OLD. And Jaden thinks old means you die.

5. Gray hair (most of mine are from KIDS).

There are many more things that I could touch on, but I will save you the agony.

But all in all, I still feel young at heart, my younger friends (you know who you are) keep me up to date on all the "young" trends. And of course my kids keep me feeling like I have no choice other than to keep up. I still will crank up the radio on a good song. Ha.
Guess all in all, you truely are only as old as you feel, so I guess I am really only gonna be 25 (I wish).

I had said a few years ago that I wanted a convertible by the time I was 40, and that I wanted to be out of M'boro ( like out of the country) when I turned 40 but none of this is gonna happen. Maybe when I am 50. By then I will have a child that will be 27 and maybe grandkids, and Jaden will graduate high
school.

The start of Senior meltdowns......

Well today we had to go and get Matt's senior pictures made for the year book. As we are driving down the road on the interstate what does it start to do?

It started to pour down rain. Lovely.

I was gonna do a few pictures outside, but that got washed out.

We are going somewhere else to do the "REAL" pictures anyway.

Anyway, we walk into this OLD house that is the studio and Matthew can barely walk thru the door frames because they are so short and he is so tall.

First it was the nice TUX picture (not), then it was time for the cap and gown. Ok people, really could someone have warned me about this. I had a melt down then he ordered his class ring, but seeing him walk around that corner with a cap and gown on was more than my almost 40 heart could stand. It was a REAL eye opener.

And as you can see, Jaden had to get his 2 cents in also.

God prepare me for May 2009 as I let my first baby

about baseball for a while. We finished up this weekend!! I am sure all you non baseball people are happy!!

Yes,I spent my entire weekend and I do mean my entire weekend at the ball field in temp' s of about 97. Heat index in the 100's.

Matthew played in another World Series Tournament . They came in 2nd place again, but

they played hard.

Anyway... here are a few pics.

Next he will be doing BOWLING for the High school.

By the way.... Matthew will be a Senior this year .. CLASS OF 09'.

Ok,people! You have exactly 5 months til Christmas Eve. Start shopping!

Just thought I would share that with you.

Today is a Gorgeous day in Middle Tennessee. The sun is shinning , and it is a nice dry temperature of about 65. You can't ask for a better day than that.

Don't get excited though, it is gonna hit 90 today and mid 90's by the weekend with the great, bad hair day humidity coming back. But I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Yes it is back to school already, and no I AM NOT ready. I actually have had a very hard morning with it. But on the bright side, Jaden was ok with it (for now).

I got up at 5:45 am and got stuff going, and then Jaden got up at 6:40 a.m.

He was tired, but for the most part sorta anxious.

Oh, and have I mentioned what we go thru when it comes to what he is wearing to school. He has to have his own outfit picked out. He is worse than any girl. I am not sure where in the world he gets this from (me).... LOL.

Wish my teenager cared like that......... :)He is 17 and I usually put his clothes out so he will match! (kidding)

Jaden gets out at 11:00am today, and then we will be doing a fun afternoon at the pool with Lauren, Dawson, Eric, and Brandon. It is just suppose to be 96 today...
